Room 6 Quadblogging

Check out Room 6 students writing blog comments to our
Quadblogging classes from all around New Zealand.

We have been learning how to write effective blog comments on other classes blogs. We have learnt we need to write comments quickly before the iPad times-out, so we must have a plan before hand. What we write is important, it must relate to the post, and we must remember capital letters and full stops. We never post personal information about us or others and we should always be polite.
We are lucky enough to be involved with three other fabulous schools from all around New Zealand who we write blog comments to each week. Thanks Netherton School Room 6 from Paeroa, Invercargill Middle School Room 7, and Whangarei Primary School Room 14.

Do you enjoy writing blog comments on other classes blogs?
Do you have any great tips on writing effective blog comments?

Have a great weekend!

Bio Poem Art

Please watch our 'Bio Poem Art' video where students have written poems about themselves and then used warm and cool coloured oil pastels to create these vibrant works of art. Take a watch and then come in and look in the classroom to see your child’s beautiful poem too!

Look how well the students blended in the pastels so no white paper could be seen!

Life Education...Welcome Harold!

We have been very lucky this week with Harold the giraffe visiting to discuss with us about being Happy and Healthy. We are looking at emotions and how we deal with them appropriately and thinking about how we can help others deal with change. A great programme about 'Our Feelings' from Life Education.

What did you learn when you went to see Harold?

Have a great week!

Whole School Tryathlon Whanau Day

14/2/14 APS School Tryathlon on PhotoPeach

School TRYathlon

Well done to all of the Auroa School competitors at the School Tryathlon on Friday 14th February.
Nearly all of the school competed with some amazing results. Wow, nearly 200 students!
I'm glad Room 6 had fun and gave it a TRY!
I saw many smiling faces and it was great to catch up with so many parents.
I wonder what Whanau received the largest amount of tokens?........Who do you think will win?
 Also...
Well done to the PTA who always put in an amazing effort in fundraising for our School!
What a TEAM!

Exploring our iPads

Room 6 have been using the iPads to learn how to get to our blog and make comments.
We discussed how there is two simple ways of getting there. Through the Auroa School blog and clicking Room 6 or writing in room6@auroaschool in the search.
We eventually got there and the students were very excited to see their page.

A few pictures of our room environment.
We have the Auroa School colour theme going on…orange and blue!
