Mihi Art in Room 5

Room 5 have been working on our Mihi Art

We wrote it on a Google Doc then printed it with our photo onto our artwork.
We decided to paint our Maunga to represent the mountain in our Mihi.

We used the elements of art to construct our artwork. First we practiced our line marking, thick, thin, light, dark. We then enlarged our drawings and hand drew them with pencil onto watercolour paper. We drew in all the dark and light areas we could see on our Maunga. We used cool colours (green, purple and blue) to paint the mountain then when it was dry we used warm colours (red, orange, yellow) to paint the sky.

We think they look AMAZING!!!

  1. Hello Mrs. Ericcsson's Class!
Your artwork is beautiful! How neat! We are creating a line graph to compare the weather between our Quadblogging buddies. Could you please reply to this comment below , or comment on mrscampagna.edublogs.org and let us know what city you live in in Taranaki, New Zealand. We learned that there are many cities in this province and you all have very different weather!
    Thank you!
    Love,
    Mrs. Campagna's Class
